A lot of hard work was recognised by shop window judge Anne Sicluna of the Festival Committee and Kate Mosse, local author, on Friday 12th June as the judging for the Flower Festival shop window competition took place.
A number of our city centre shops bravely entered the window competition, held in conjunction with The Festival of Chichester. Using the Festival of Chichester event categories for inspiration and following the overall theme, Chestnut Tree House Charity Shop, North Street, was awarded first place, followed by Clearwell Mobility on Market Road and Q Hairdressing in North Street and Children Society in South Street shared joint third place.
The winners get to choose from a list of Festival of Events that they would like to attend, for free.
First place winner, Helen Smith, Manager of Chestnut Tree House Charity shop said: “We are over the moon to have won. It has been a pleasure to support the Festival of Chichester through our charity window. Everything used as part of the display has been donated and is now on sale!”
Well done to all the shops taking part. It’s a lot of work for just a few days of stunning shop windows, but no one can say it doesn’t brighten up our city streets!
Thank you all for making such a superb effort. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact Kim or Barry from the Festival on [email protected]
