Last night, Tuesday 7 July, our City centre was featured on BBC South Today at 6.30pm.
Local business owners were interviewed on camera to give their views on local Councils potentially having the power to relax Sunday trading hours. A number of pedestrians were interviewed and featured on camera.
Charlotte Wickins, the BID’s Manager was also interviewed outside the BID office to offer commentary in response to the Government’s proposed Bill.
Chichester District Council rang Charlotte yesterday morning to ask for the BID’s view for the interview, to which she reported having consulted with a handful of the BID’s business partners. Charlotte believes that the majority of businesses in Chichester would welcome the opportunity to extend their trading hours, with chain stores very positive and independents grateful for the freedom to make up their own minds!
Charlotte, other businesses and the pedestrians were very positive about Chichester – it certainly puts us on the map! We were watching intently at 6.30pm last night, BBC1 South Today.
