On Saturday 19 October, designer men’s clothing store Dartagnan Menswear in Chichester will celebrate 50 years to the day that its original store was launched in Winchester. Customers both old and new are invited into the store on the day, to help celebrate this milestone with a series of special in-store offers and luxury prizes from suppliers.
As part of the celebrations, Dartagnan is excited to be collaborating with London fragrance experts Molton Brown to giveaway 50 goodie bags on the day. To help with the party atmosphere, Purchases are creating a pop-up bar in the store to serve the best drinks that Chichester has to offer. Also on the day, Dartagnan will be offering a series of gift vouchers and in-store incentives. There will also be a videographer on the private tailoring floor, where loyal customers will be invited to comment on why they keep coming back to the shop. Once edited, the video will be launched on Dartagnan’s social media channels.
Matt Horstead, Manager of Dartagnan Menswear, commented: “On this significant 50th anniversary, it just goes to show that independent retailers will flourish if their business is built on outstanding service, with unique and beautiful products, a store environment that is second to none and a retail experience that customers are compelled to return to time and time over. Local businesses absolutely rely on the support of the community and shopping local is the foundation on which small cities and businesses are built, since a large proportion of the money spent is reinvested into the local community. The loyal support we receive in our stunning city and beyond is outstanding and we are thrilled to still be a thriving part of this community.“
Dartagnan Menswear was established 50 years ago by Geoff and Vera Elsom in Winchester. At one point there were a total of five stores in the south but it is the Chichester store that has endured under the management of Matt Horstead who purchased the business in 2002.
