Box Pleated Lampshade Making Workshop at Clothkits
November 2 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Come and learn how to make a box pleated lampshade! In this workshop, run by Jane Warren of The Lampshade Loft, you will learn all the skills needed to make the loose cover box pleated lampshade, currently hugely popular and a lovely addition to any room.
You will be guided through all the steps needed to make these lampshades, and will learn the skills to go on to make more, either for your own use or professionally. The shade will be unlined, as once completed, it will be positioned onto a ready-made hard lampshade with a base circumference of 20cm.

Lampshade Loft.
Materials:
You will need a minimum of 35cm of fabric, with a full width of 120cm minimum. It is best to use a medium or heavier weight fabric to make the crisp pleats down the length of the lampshade, avoid lawns, thinner fabrics, or loose linens. A medium weight fabric will work, but it will result in a less structured shade. If you are thinking about the pattern, please note the pleats will be 3cm wide.
You will also need £5 for the lampshade which is paid directly to the tutor on the day.
Class Size:
Maximum class size of 6.
Skills:
Although you do not need extensive sewing experience, it is advantageous to have experience of working with fabrics, precision is key!
This workshop costs £120 and can be booked here.
