Roman Poetry and Music at The Novium Museum

A recital of the famous lyric odes by Horace will transport you to ancient Rome. Guest poet Timothy Adès will be reading his own translations from Horace and other poets, overlooking the splendid Roman bath house. Timothy Adès is a rhyming translator-poet with several books and awards. He has an Oxford classical degree.
Roman music recreated by classical guitarist Linda Kelsall-Barnett, with thanks for guidance from Armand D’Angour, professor of Classics, at Jesus College, Oxford.
In collaboration with South Downs Poetry Festival. South Downs poets Stephanie Norgate, Chris Hardy, Cherrie Taylor and Barry Smith present contemporary poems on historical themes.
