SUMMARY:The Art & Science of Living Longer with Dr Katie Armstrong from Clinic51 at Fernleigh
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Fernleigh for an insightful and empowering talk with women’s health specialist Dr Katie Armstrong. This event explores the science of ageing and disease prevention\, offering a fresh perspective on how lifestyle\, environment\, and stress levels shape our long-term health and wellbeing. \nDr Katie Armstrong is the founder of Clinic51\, a women’s health and menopause clinic based between Chichester and Petworth. Dr Katie Armstrong is trained by the British Menopause Society and the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine\, and brings over 20 years of experience as a GP\, alongside a passion for the impact that lifestyle has on health. \nThe Art & Science of Living Longer – with Dr Katie Armstrong. \n“Chronological age is just the number of years you have lived – whereas biological age is how well your body is actually functioning. Genetics play a role but so does your lifestyle\, environment and stress. The diseases that kill us – heart disease\, stroke\, dementia\, diabetes and cancer – are at least in part\, preventable. \nCome and find out what the latest science tells us about disease prevention and biological ageing\, and what we can do about it. You can’t change your date of birth\, but you can change how your body ages.” \nThis event is free of charge\, however spaces are limited so booking is highly recommended. \nPlease note this event will take place in the Blue Lounge on the first floor with no lift access. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

SUMMARY:Talk | Curator’s Introduction to British Landscapes: A Sense of Place at Pallant House Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Join Gallery Director Simon Martin for an introduction to our current exhibition British Landscapes: A Sense of Place\, a landmark exhibition exploring how artists from the 18th to the 20th century have responded to the landscapes of the British Isles. Bringing together works by more than 60 artists\, the exhibition reveals landscape not simply as scenery\, but as a powerful expression of memory\, identity and emotion. \nSpanning Romanticism\, Modernism and postwar abstraction\, Simon Martin will trace a rich lineage from Thomas Gainsborough and the golden age of British watercolour to the postwar works of Wilhelmina Barns-Graham\, Barbara Hepworth\, Paul Nash\, and Eric Ravilious\, reflecting on how Britain’s landscapes have been lived in\, remembered and reimagined – and how they continue to shape our collective sense of belonging and resilience. \nYour ticket includes entry to the exhibition following the talk.  \nTickets cost £18 and can be booked here.
