DESCRIPTION:Create abstract portraits and figures through monoprinting with artist Charlotte Cranidge. \nIn this dynamic workshop\, artist Charlotte Cranidge will guide you through the process of creating abstracted portraits and figures\, using experimental monoprinting techniques. Drawing inspiration from Ben Nicholson’s prints in our Seeing Each Other: Portraits of Artists exhibition\, you’ll explore the expressive possibilities of printmaking\, crafting striking and unique designs through hands-on experimentation. \nThe session begins with a visit to the exhibition and introduction to Ben Nicholson’s prints\, which will serve as the foundation for your own artistic exploration. Participants will then experiment with two key monoprinting techniques. First\, you’ll use stencils to block areas of your design\, creating bold and abstract shapes. You’ll also learn how to directly draw onto the paper\, further enhancing your abstract portraits with expressive lines and details. Through these methods\, you’ll focus on using stencils to block ink and form unique\, abstracted portraits. \nThroughout the workshop\, you’ll create a series of prints that emphasize abstract portraiture\, allowing you to experiment with various styles and approaches. \nThis workshop costs £75 and can be booked here.

SUMMARY:Socks On! Sock Knitting Course at Clothkits
DESCRIPTION:If you are already an experienced knitter join us for this fabulous sock knitting course with Knitting Guru Susan Alexander! In the first week\, you will cover casting on in the round over four needles and knitting to the heel flap. During the second session\, you will knit the heel flap and gusset. You may have some homework after these two initial classes. Finally\, in week three you will graft the toes using kitchener stitch\, weave in all the ends and sew up the small gap at the cuff where you started.\nAbout your Teacher: Susan\, known locally as the Knitting Guru\, has a wealth of knitting experience spanning decades. At the age of 5\, Susan started her knitting journey with the love and guidance of her beloved grandmother. By the time she was 17 she had been chosen to knit for Jeff Banks and in the mid eighties many of her creations were shown on BBC’s The Clothes Show. More recently Susan helps and guides many keen knitters to develop their knitting skills\, offering one 2 one tuition in and around Chichester. \nClass Size: Maximum class size of 8 \nSkills: Ideal for experienced knitters \nMaterials: Included in the price of the workshop is one ball of Signature Four Ply Yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners (any colour) and a set of 5 2.5mm bamboo knitting needles. \nCourse Duration: 3 x 2 hour sessions on Wednesday September 17th\, 24th & Wednesday 1st October. \nThis workshop costs £130 and can be booked here.

DESCRIPTION:Essential Oil Blending Workshop with Nic from Pure Cariad.\nThis workshop is a great introduction to using and blending essential oils. Nic will cover the benefits\, a few safety tips and how to begin to blend with an ailment or particular aroma or feeling in mind. \nThen it is very much hands on\, experimenting and layering oils to create a simple 2-3 oil blend which you can use to create a roll on and then another to create a witch hazel spritzer for you to take home. \nAll natural ingredients are used and you can also create notecards of recipes to recreate at home when they’re empty. \n\nWorkshop starts at 11am and runs for approximately 1.5-2 hours\nNo experience required.\nClass size: 7\nMaterials & refreshments provided\n\nWorkshop takes place at our studio: 2a Crane St in Chichester\, just round the corner from our shop.
