To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this June, we are launching a special family trail around Chichester city centre which uses augmented reality to help tell stories from the past and bring the Queen’s 70 year reign to life.
Running from 30 April to 12 June, the trail will have seven check-in points around the city centre, all positioned so that families can discover hidden parts of the city.
You will be guided on your journey by a wonderful character called Sir Barnaby Beacon as he visits seven memorable and magical friends, including Charlie Crown and Theadora Throne, who have come from Buckingham Palace to see the sights of Chichester.
There’s no need to download anything to take part, just look out for the seven magical characters (vinyl displays) in the windows of local businesses and scan the QR code to bring them to life and engage with them in AR.
You can find out their names, learn more about the Queen’s history and have fun taking silly selfies in augmented reality.
After finding all 7 characters, players will be rewarded with a free e-book that concludes the story.
To get started on the trail, all families need to do is CLICK HERE to find more information and a map to the first ‘story-point’. It is completely free to take part in and players will win a free, digital fun pack at the end.
