One of the most wonderful traditions of #ChristmasinChichester is the annual Window Competition, where the city’s shopfronts are transformed into a captivating showcase of festive artistry. This year, the theme celebrates the Christmas Tree, tying in with the launch of the Christmas Tree Stroll and Chichester Festival Theatre’s family production, Hey! Christmas Tree!
The Christmas Tree Stroll is a new addition to the city’s festive offerings, featuring beautifully decorated trees dotted around Chichester city centre. Among these, seven unique Christmas tree sculptures, crafted by local artists using sustainable materials, will bring a creative and eco-friendly touch to the celebrations. Visitors are invited to explore these enchanting installations while enjoying the seasonal atmosphere Chichester is known for.
In keeping with the Christmas Tree theme, Chichester’s businesses have been invited to let their imaginations soar in decorating their windows. From traditional greenery to wonderful wish trees, the possibilities for interpretation are endless. There’s also a focus on sustainability, with many businesses opting to use recycled materials or highlighting messages of environmental awareness in their displays.
The judges will evaluate entries based on creativity, presentation and how effectively they capture the Christmas Tree theme. The lucky winning business will receive four tickets to Chichester Festival Theatre’s Hey! Christmas Tree on 29th December 2024 – a delightful prize to round off the festive season!
