Smock On! Hand Smocking Workshop for Beginners at Clothkits
May 14 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join us for a fun workshop to learn how to hand smock, or continue where you left off the last time you smocked with Maria. Smocking is an embroidery technique that uses small stitches to gather the fabric. In the olden days, as well as being decorative, it also served a practical purpose – as the gathered fabric can stretch it is perfect for necklines or cuffs. These days you will usually find hand smocking on children’s dresses, but it also looks great on women’s clothes too.
