The Fountain Inn is one of the oldest public houses in Chichester, opening its doors in 1798. The pub is built against the Roman city wall which is still visible in the restaurant. In the late 1820s, the landlords were HG Wells’ Grandparents – George and Sarah Neal.
In 2019 a major refurbishment of the entire pub was carried out enabling the landlords to offer their fine hospitality, great traditional pub food, and wonderful drinks offering, alongside a regular calendar of events.
Full of rustic charm, this delightful public house in Chichester has a lovely and spacious restaurant area, two large open fires, a large outdoor courtyard and parking is available just to the rear of the building. Situated only a few moments away from Chichester Cathedral and in the heart of the main shopping area; there is something for everyone at The Fountain.
