The BID team are dedicated to promoting Chichester as an attractive and viable place in which to work, live and visit. Rich with history, culture, arts, music, retail and business services, we work closely with BID members, local authorities and partners to invest in promotional events and campaigns that will maximise footfall and increase local economy.
Running from June – August, our 2019 seasonal promotion will be a three month “celebration” of Chichester’s city centre to include refreshed streets, planting, flag and bunting displays, cross street installation, an independents shopping guide and the promotion of independent retailers in general.
In 2018 the BID organised a new lighting scheme, which was well-received and increased visitor interest. The provision of a more professional set of on-street activities has been made possible by moving investment away from a one-night switch-on to a month of quality events including trails, entertainment and installations.
As agreed in the 2017 Business Plan, financial support for the revival of Visit Chichester has been provided by Chichester BID with match funding from the District Council. This partnership will ensure BID members receive support from Visit Chichester through their online and offline marketing channels. We will also be working together on the overall branding and promotion of Chichester as a destination.
