Discover Chichester’s Magical Christmas Window Displays

There’s something about Christmas shop windows that captures the imagination. From beautifully dressed displays and twinkling lights to unexpected details that make you stop for a closer look, they’re part of what makes a visit to Chichester city centre so special at this time of year.

This Christmas, Chichester’s businesses are being invited to let their creativity take flight as our annual Christmas Window Competition returns, supported by leading Sussex law firm Mayo Wynne Baxter.

A Little Never Land Magic in Chichester

With the theme Christmas in Never Land, inspired by Chichester Festival Youth Theatre’s production of Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure, we’re looking forward to seeing how businesses bring a little of J. M. Barrie’s magical world to the city’s streets.

Will we spot Tinker Bell’s fairy dust, Captain Hook’s pirate ship, the Lost Boys or perhaps a crocodile lurking among the Christmas decorations?

The theme offers plenty of scope for imagination, and that’s what makes the competition so enjoyable. Every business brings its own personality and creative ideas to its display, whether it’s an elaborate festive scene, a clever interpretation of the story or a window filled with beautiful Christmas details.

From Saturday 21 November, visitors can look out for the decorated windows appearing across Chichester city centre, adding another reason to explore the streets, browse the shops and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Why not make an afternoon of it? Take a stroll through the city centre, admire the displays, discover somewhere new and see which windows catch your eye.

Celebrating the Creativity of Chichester’s Businesses

Our annual Christmas Window Competition is an opportunity to recognise the time, imagination and effort that local businesses put into their festive displays.

This year’s competition is supported by Mayo Wynne Baxter, with judging involving our CEO, Natasha McLeod, and a representative from Mayo Wynne Baxter.

Together, they’ll be looking at how participating businesses have interpreted the Christmas in Never Land theme, with the winning displays to be announced in December.

It’s a chance to celebrate the businesses whose creativity helps make Christmas shopping in Chichester city centre such an enjoyable experience.
